For the past two years, my bluebird house hung in the backyard in what was really a bad location, hole facing into the wind. A couple of other less picky birds gave it a try, but no bluebirds.
I finally took it down and moved it to a post in my gazebo garden in the front yard.
A mere four hours later, the house was sold!
Real estate here really is all about location.
Happy spring!
Very happy!
ReplyDeleteI can see the house from my front windows - so much fun to watch!
DeleteWow, that was fast. Happy bird-watching!
ReplyDeleteI'm very excited about seeing some bluebird babies this year!
DeleteSold! That made me laugh! Such good news, though. And you are the BEST at getting bird photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have a nice view of the birdhouse from my front windows. They have been so much fun to watch.
DeleteSo exciting! I'm very happy for you, and those are great photos. Can I ask, what direction does the nest face (south, west?) and do you think that makes a difference?
ReplyDeleteI think it makes a huge difference. Previously it faced south/southwest, and I think it got too much of the wind blowing in. Now it faces east, which is their preferred direction according to google.
DeleteYour pictures are wonderful. I guess I have been too busy in the garden to watch the nesting part. I have watched Dad teach the babies to fly and the babies are so soft and beautiful with big eyes. I hope you will get to post all of it
ReplyDeletePhil and Kirsty could not have done a better job. How lucky you are to have Bluebirds.
ReplyDeleteLocation, location, location. That's what they always say. How wonderful to have bluebirds. I thought they only existed in songs.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! Only four hours? They were probably waiting for you to move the birdhouse to the right spot.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new feathered neighbors, Indie. We also have bluebirds -- and hundreds of sparrows! Love the bluebirds (no comment on the sparrows.) P.x
